EVEN MONEY

Hi people, for the first time on my blog there is a space for a 'Murder Mystery'. The dual writers : Dick and Felix Francis have created a marvelous impact with their suspense novel 'even money'. It has all sorts of emotions ; there is drama, action, suspense(all over), love and adventure.
The plot is that, a bookie, Ned Talbot, earns his living by engaging himself in his family business of placing bets in the Horse Race for punters and enjoying gains with loads of risk. He lives with his grandparents since he was a child cuz as per them Ned's parents died in an accident. But, for
getting his past, he is really happy in his busy married life of bookmaking, the talent which he got from his grandfather who was himself a known person in the Royal Ascot. Ned, a thorough professional, likes dealing with different punters. But one busy day, an old man constantly watches him throughout the time which makes Ned irritated. Tired of it Ned goes to him and asked why was he staring him continuously. That old man then claims himself to be Ned's father whom, Ned knew that he died years ago !!! This perplexed him a lot...he was out of his mind..., but somehow he agrees his mouth. At the same time when they were having conversations while walking in the parking lot, another person came and shot his father dead ! That man also tried to kill Ned but he could somehow save himself...but he was in complete shock seeing his father's jeopardy in front of his eyes when it was not even an hour of their first glance. It, then, automatically became a police case and in the DNA test, it was proved that this dead man was indeed Ned's father. The report also suggested that his father was the killer of his mother as well.
Trying to solve this mystery and finding the killer, Ned had to face some serious breathtaking problems, but finally, the mystery unlocks itself..! The book is a complete success in itself and I would suggest you to read it with full enthu. and interest. Personally, I liked it a lot.!

The Adventures of Tintin:
King Ottokar’s Sceptre
By Herge

This fun loving Tintin edition, is the eighth of The Adventures of Tintin by Herge which has overpowered many people's hearts. Herge has always taken care that his every Tintin comic has something new and more adventurous.
The story begins when Tintin finds a lost briefcase and returns it to the owner, Professor Hector Alembick, an expert on seals and there he shows Tintin his collection of seals. One of those seals belonged to the Syldavian King Ottokar IV. Tintin suspects that Alembick is under surveillance by some strange men. Following which, Tintin's flat is bombed in an attempt to kill him.
Tintin tries hard to uncover the possible impostor but in vain. He decides to let the matter drop but then, while flying over Syldavia, it is the pilot of the plane who opens a trap door and Tintin drops out, landing in a hay
wagon.
He is now almost sure that a plot to steal the sceptre of King Ottokar IV has been framed. He realises that in Syldavia, the reigning King must possess the sceptre to rule or he will be forced to abdicate, a tradition established after a past king used the sceptre to defeat a would-be assassin. Every year he rides in a parade during St. Vladimir's Day carrying it, while the people sing the national anthem. Despites, all the efforts of the conspirators , Tintin warns him. He and the King then rush to the royal treasure room to find the sceptre missing. Alembick, the royal photographer and some guards were unconscious.
Tintin's friends, detectives Thomson and Thompson are a great fun and supports him throughout. Later on, Tintin notices a spring cannon in a toy shop and this gives him the clue. Professor Alembick had asked for some photographs to be taken of the sceptre, but the camera was a spring cannon in disguise, which allowed him to 'shoot' the sceptre out of the castle through the window bars into a nearby forest.
Searching the forest, Tintin spots the sceptre being found by agents of the neighbouring country, Borduria. After a long chase, Tintin saves the sceptre from crossing the border just in time. He discovers papers that show that the theft of the sceptre was just part of a major plan for a takeover of Syldavia by their long-time political rival, Borduria. After running for the truth, Tintin finally tries to solve the mystery successfully and returns home with Snowy and his friends.
Personally, I'm a Tintin fan so I love the book. But being unbiased and neutral, I still love the book. It has all sorts of features which can make a reader go mad and read the whole book in one go!!

Hi readers...and A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!!!
Im sry..its a really late post...but i promise that this post is all set to hit the stores as well as even your minds...because of its unique name.."missed iit, kissed russia" !!!!
As i saw this novel....i thought that this might be another stupid college work...but the inside matter is just awsome...especially those people who are aspiring for top engineering colleges...this novel is a december release...it took me little longer time to read because of some work....
Leave that....talking about this one...the author is a novice...Neeraj Chhibba. This book revolves around the protagonist...Pankaj, who is by birth a brilliant child, and is the only son in his family with his 2 sisters. Pankaj was fully destined to go into IIT , but a serious accident landed him in a depression. It was then that his father decided and landed him to a place which was entirely new to him...Volgograd, Russia.
Life for him in Russia was not at all easy. He had to manage a totally different language, cold weather, different people and the brawling food. Under extreme pressure from his college mates...he loses his virginity too...Things became even more hard for him when he makes the Dean his enemy and his seniors conspires to ruin his life with the help of some local mafias. In this devastating phase...he manages to find his love...,which takes him to places.
With all his sheer enterprising mind and behavior...he survives there and makes a mark on people.
The book is in a flashback...and talks about his life in school in Delhi...his best friends , Motu and Priya and childhood crush. The strange thing is the place talked about..which is not seen in most other novels. It is a fresh start by Neeraj...and a must read....TRY IT...!!
