EVEN MONEY

Hi people, for the first time on my blog there is a space for a 'Murder Mystery'. The dual writers : Dick and Felix Francis have created a marvelous impact with their suspense novel 'even money'. It has all sorts of emotions ; there is drama, action, suspense(all over), love and adventure.
The plot is that, a bookie, Ned Talbot, earns his living by engaging himself in his family business of placing bets in the Horse Race for punters and enjoying gains with loads of risk. He lives with his grandparents since he was a child cuz as per them Ned's parents died in an accident. But, for
getting his past, he is really happy in his busy married life of bookmaking, the talent which he got from his grandfather who was himself a known person in the Royal Ascot. Ned, a thorough professional, likes dealing with different punters. But one busy day, an old man constantly watches him throughout the time which makes Ned irritated. Tired of it Ned goes to him and asked why was he staring him continuously. That old man then claims himself to be Ned's father whom, Ned knew that he died years ago !!! This perplexed him a lot...he was out of his mind..., but somehow he agrees his mouth. At the same time when they were having conversations while walking in the parking lot, another person came and shot his father dead ! That man also tried to kill Ned but he could somehow save himself...but he was in complete shock seeing his father's jeopardy in front of his eyes when it was not even an hour of their first glance. It, then, automatically became a police case and in the DNA test, it was proved that this dead man was indeed Ned's father. The report also suggested that his father was the killer of his mother as well.
Trying to solve this mystery and finding the killer, Ned had to face some serious breathtaking problems, but finally, the mystery unlocks itself..! The book is a complete success in itself and I would suggest you to read it with full enthu. and interest. Personally, I liked it a lot.!

The Adventures of Tintin:
King Ottokar’s Sceptre
By Herge

This fun loving Tintin edition, is the eighth of The Adventures of Tintin by Herge which has overpowered many people's hearts. Herge has always taken care that his every Tintin comic has something new and more adventurous.
The story begins when Tintin finds a lost briefcase and returns it to the owner, Professor Hector Alembick, an expert on seals and there he shows Tintin his collection of seals. One of those seals belonged to the Syldavian King Ottokar IV. Tintin suspects that Alembick is under surveillance by some strange men. Following which, Tintin's flat is bombed in an attempt to kill him.
Tintin tries hard to uncover the possible impostor but in vain. He decides to let the matter drop but then, while flying over Syldavia, it is the pilot of the plane who opens a trap door and Tintin drops out, landing in a hay
wagon.
He is now almost sure that a plot to steal the sceptre of King Ottokar IV has been framed. He realises that in Syldavia, the reigning King must possess the sceptre to rule or he will be forced to abdicate, a tradition established after a past king used the sceptre to defeat a would-be assassin. Every year he rides in a parade during St. Vladimir's Day carrying it, while the people sing the national anthem. Despites, all the efforts of the conspirators , Tintin warns him. He and the King then rush to the royal treasure room to find the sceptre missing. Alembick, the royal photographer and some guards were unconscious.
Tintin's friends, detectives Thomson and Thompson are a great fun and supports him throughout. Later on, Tintin notices a spring cannon in a toy shop and this gives him the clue. Professor Alembick had asked for some photographs to be taken of the sceptre, but the camera was a spring cannon in disguise, which allowed him to 'shoot' the sceptre out of the castle through the window bars into a nearby forest.
Searching the forest, Tintin spots the sceptre being found by agents of the neighbouring country, Borduria. After a long chase, Tintin saves the sceptre from crossing the border just in time. He discovers papers that show that the theft of the sceptre was just part of a major plan for a takeover of Syldavia by their long-time political rival, Borduria. After running for the truth, Tintin finally tries to solve the mystery successfully and returns home with Snowy and his friends.
Personally, I'm a Tintin fan so I love the book. But being unbiased and neutral, I still love the book. It has all sorts of features which can make a reader go mad and read the whole book in one go!!

Andre Agassi Open :: An Autobiography

From one of the most beloved and respected athletes , Andre Agassi, who created magic in tennis court every time he stepped his feet there.....I present the review of his beautiful autobiography : OPEN .
A ninth-grade dropout..little Agassi struggled rigorously in the tennis court. Despite his raw talent....he struggled his life for tennis. After loosing 3 grand slams, Agassi shocks the whole world by winning the 1992 Wimbledon and overnight he became a world icon and fan favorite. he dyed his hair, pierced his ears and dressed like a punk rocker which soon captured media's eyes and became a youth icon.
In his autobiography, he gives a pictorial view of his every pivotal match against some real heroes of tennis (like Jimmy Connors, Pete Sampras, Roger Fedrer, etc) and every relationship. He also reveals some shattering loss of confidence and the making great comebacks with his epic run in 1999 French Open and thus marching towards becoming the biggest Tennis Star ever!!
He thanks every person who has supported him all throughout his career and his love Stephanie Graf. Entering his last tournament in 2006 he made some stunning metamorphosis from a dropout to an education advocate. And since his last tournaments played he made a courageous last stand and delivers one of the most stirring farewell ever heard in sporting arena.
This autobiography is an open book of Agassi's life....a must read book for his ever loved fans...

SUPERFREAKONOMICS

Hi readers....

I am back with a new version or better I call it a sequel of the successful bestseller book written by Steven D.Levitt and Stephen J.Dubner..."Freakonomics"....remember...!! Freakonomics was written in such a beautiful way that it hit the reader's heads the right way making it the bestseller...!
Well...like the previous 1...this sequel also quotes some of the real instances going around the world which may make you go mad..!! This is exactly how these 2 crazy people make it.. This novel has some great observations and discussions and some real surprising stories and i bet you readers will enjoy it really well.
Superfreakonomics tells us some great fascinating anecdotes like...Pimps and real estate agents both match buyers and sellers, but pimps add more value. Prostitution has declined over the years not because society has become more moral, but because more women have sex for free. During holidays the demand for sex rises and so does the supply with many part time prostitutes entering the workforce. You may not be able to recognize a terrorist by simply looking at a person, but a fairly reliable terrorist profile exists.
And the best part about this book is that it makes awsome conclusions on the discussions or any observations like the previous one did.. So this is totally gonna be exciting and original in its own way...
In conclusion...i would say that Superfreakonomics is a bunch of fun and entertainment and facts are put in an unusual idea....and most importantly those readers who have enjoyed the previous 1 will definitely taste something good in this sequel.
NOTE : Please dont take some of its specific claims seriously..hehe...!!!

A LETTER TO BAPU FROM GEN X

HI FOLKS...
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti ..on 2nd October, Chetan Bhagat wrote a letter to Mahatma Gandhi telling him that we Indians still remember him and his very existence is always there with us in the form of currency notes, or stamps, or statues,or khadi fabrics. Even the major road has been named after his name..the M.G.ROAD..!
His numerous speeches and thoughts has always inspired us in our day-to-day life...and we still adore him the way he shooed off the white men..!!
Chetan Bhagat has also mentioned about the intense poverty and prejudice prevailing in India...even when the country is free..! After 60 years of our independence...we are still counted as one of the poorest nations of the world. He also quoted on the education of India...which is totally academics based...!
He is positive about the youngistan...who will bring changes in this developing nation..and for this we ned you to come down and help us in this..and at last he hopes that Gandhi is living happily in God's laps...!
Do read this excellent article...you will definitely enjoy it...
